Underpass memories should not be extinguished

Beyond Canadians’ apparent universal affection for the game, historian Paul Kitchen explains the significance of this site, lying on the route Lord Stanley would travel to his East Block office. For several years, the NCC has been exploring ways to “reclaim the historic space as an urban experience and transform it into a national icon… [to] convey a significant Capital to the world and be representative of Canadian values, ideals and the nation’s role on the world stage.”
